Hi, I'm Lindsay Small.

Photography has always been a part of me. I grew up watching my grandma (shout out to my Mema!) behind the camera. She was an award-winning photographer with her work in national magazines and was very well known in our hometown. I was fascinated with photography and knew I wanted to pursue it. Photography was offered at my high school but not for Freshman, and even though I begged the photography teacher to let me start early, he made me wait. I took all 3 years possible and was top of my class (I bet Mr. Allen regrets not letting me start sooner)! Ha, ha! I was also photographer on yearbook staff. I developed my film by hand - locked in a small, pitch-black closet, carefully rolling my film onto a plastic spool and locking it carefully in an air-tight container so as not to expose it to the light, agitate it in smelly chemicals for what seemed like forever, then cut and line up the negatives onto photo paper to print a "contact sheet" and examine each and every tiny image to see what magic I had created. Rocking that developing tray, up and down, up and down, watching my chosen image come to life in the red light of the darkroom are memories I'll always cherish - younger photographers will never understand the anticipation that was old-school, darkroom photography!

I am local to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I work full-time for an engineering company in Castle Rock during the week and devote my nights and weekends to my photography passion. I have two amazing kiddos, a husband I'm still crazy about (he's one of the good ones!), 3 doggies, and a kitty cat.

While mostly a natural light photographer, I do have a small in-home studio for newborns and single-subject sessions (kiddo's milestones and business headshots, for example). I love capturing families and genuine personalities/emotions in my work. I'd love to have you and yours in front of my camera! A favorite part of my photography life is having my clients come back, year after year, and watching their families grow! From engagement to maternity, to newborn, little's milestones and annual family photos, to seniors in high school and beyond - I love to be a part of it all!
